Posture check!

Happy Monday everybody!

I hope you had a great weekend!

I want to start the week by getting you to think about your posture and how important it is!
Great posture is so much more than looking poised and confident (although that’s a huge benefit of better posture!). 

When you’re standing, sitting, or walking properly, you are helping your body to function properly! 

Bad posture can cause more problems than you can probably imagine: 

  • Headaches

  • Poor circulation

  • Chronic fatigue

  • Back pain

  • Deterioration of vertebrae

  • Herniated disks

  • TMJ

  • Limited flexibility and lower range of motion

  • And a LOT more!

The simple act of bringing awareness to your posture will make all of the difference in the world! 

No matter if you’re sitting at work, grocery shopping, or playing with your dog, I want you to pay close attention to how you are holding your body. 

Something that can be really helpful is wearing a special bracelet or ring, in that every time you look at it, it reminds you to check your posture. 

Another thing you can do to make you more aware of your posture is to put a book on top of your head and try not to let it fall from your head... haha, I know it sounds silly but it really works!

If that won’t work, try setting an alarm on your phone with a fun ringtone to go off every 30 minutes to remind you to sit or stand up straight!   

Whatever works best to remind you- do that!
